I am in the process of trying to recover data from a bad drive. The source (machine on which the drive was) was an HP desktop, running Vista Home Premium (64).
My immediate objective is to see if the registry is intact. The disk is not bootable or accessible by normal means. I can see parts of the file structure by using some recovery software. Parts of the file structure are damaged; I want to look at the readable parts to see if the registry files are there.
My problem is that I don't know how MS names them. Can anyone help? perhaps Off-list?
Thanks for ANY help--Bill--W4BSG
