As for question #2, have you actually "joined" the groups in question?

The Hi Rita at the top shows that you are logged into Yahoo, but Yahoo may have forgotten which Groups you have joined in the past.

In the left column of the Group, if you click Home, do you see a Join This Group button on the home page?
