[Simply Computers] putting linux on Presario 1245

Ok Linux gurus I need your help.

I was unable to install Windoze xp so I would like to install Linux. Xubuntu 10.04 won't install because the kernel requires "cmov" but the PC's processor doesn't have it. I need to know what distribution I should install and where I can get it. I spent a couple of hours trying to find one but can't seem to find one. There is one called TinyMe I am going to see if I can find this one.

I tried a clean install and a upgrade and neither works. The only other option is to install Linux. He just maxed the memory out to 160M. (I thought the install for the upgrade was stuck but it just resumed).

> If the upgrade doesn't work does anyone have any suggestions for an easy install for Linux and a USB wireless adapter that would work with very little effort. I would prefer an install that would be easy for a novice to use.
