[Simply Computers] Picture files.

 

I have a lot of snapshot type pictures in albums that take up a lot of shelf space. I want to scan these and put them on cd's, flashdrives, or maybe an external harddrive. I want to be sure they are safe so they wont get lost, this way I can get rid of the originals. How can I do this and feel safe? When I said a lot of them I talking like 60 years or so. I have windows XP with a Dell All In One Printer A940 with Photo Wizard. How would be the easiest way to do this and what external device should I put them on?
